DNS Set-up - Website
Livengood
Hey guys Livengood here :D,
today i am writing a tutorial on DNS Setup for your websites :), so you can have a free domain like http://haxthat.tk, http://haxthat.co.cc, and http://haxthat.co.nr. There are others out there... ok well what this will do is make any domain name change with the url, and not have it sit there with http://www.codenstuff.com/, it will change with every click of the url when you navigate to a new page.

Example:
parked domains will change like this
Code: Select all
http://www.codenstuff.com/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=36 and not sit on the same url http://www.codenstuff.com/
well in this tutorial i am using http://vistapanel.net/ to show how to use and set up domain names.

well first off start by login into your panel and under Domains click parked domains.

Image

nexted scroll down you should see where it will say Name Servers

These are what you need :D.

ok, next(i am using http://dot.tk). Choose the domain name you want to have and then click use DNS for this domain.

Image

check Use my own DNS Services, then enter those name servers into each slot... :D

Image

now thats set up, fill the rest of that all out.. wahooo; were almost done :D
now, go back to your vista panel, and go to the parked domains, which we went over near the top :)

Image

Make sure you dont enter the domain name in CAPS.....!!!!
and enter the domain you have sign-up for :), then click add parked domain.

Image

now that you are done, you can read that message...
Code: Select all
Message :
Congratulations you have now added a new domain to your vPanel.

Due to a process known as 'DNS Propagation' it may take upto 76 hours before the domain name works globally.

Until DNS has fully propagated the sitebuilder may not work, also browsing to the domain may not work.

Please do not create a support ticket for a domain that has been added within the 76 hour period, 99% of domain issues will be resolved by waiting this period of time

Happy Hosting !
Just wait up to 76 hours, and you are all good cooll;

cool
Nailing my feet to the floor is easier than using my own muscles to balance, but you don't see me doing that :)
