Another big update for you guys:

#Codex and I have been working on a new design for the site. To give you an idea of the time we've been spending on it, I did nothing but coding yesterday from 8:00 to 22:30... yeah, we're pretty dedicated lol.

Here's some of the stuff that's been added:

Image

First of all, we have the home page as you would see if it you aren't logged in. We finally got around to putting a navigation bar on the right side of the header, so the userbar was resized... I think it looks better like this anyway :)

#Filip managed to get the privacy settings working, so the two sensors you see scrolling at the bottom of the page (yes, they do scoll now!) are the ones that were set to be displayed to all members/non-members.

In the footer you can see ackowledgements. We put those there to thank those who provided the base for our project. Additionnal contributors are listed in the 'About' page. You'll also notice we've added a Swedish translation, thanks to #Codex. A Polish translation will soon be provided by #kolega28 and an Icelandic one by #Agust1337. We've translated quite literally everything on the site, right down to the word "Temperature" on the extended view page. As you can see in the next screenshot, of the French translation:

Next up we've got the home page as a registered member would see it:

The main differences are the number of sensors displayed in the scroller, the userbar and the notification count on the avatar. We've decided to move these there to unclutter the header a bit. Now, when you click the "!" icon in your userbar, you are shown a popup like so:

Image

Next up we've got the new profile page. Well, it's not exactly new, but the design has changed. We've made it a bit cleaner than before:

#Filip has also managed to get the group editing/deleting to work, so we have a fully functionning sensor group system. This will be a sort of "playlist" for the user to group their favourite sensors by category:

Finally, #Codex has added a new login page design:

Another minor, but somewhat important change is the font we're using. We took advantage of the CSS3 font importing feature and used the font Noto Sans so that the website looks the same regardless of your operating system or the fonts you have on your machine.

That's it for now. As Filip said in his last post, we've started to give early access to the site to some people, but the Open BETA or ALPHA or whatever you want to call it should be pretty soon ;)

It's update time!

The register page has been styled so it's similar to the login page:

Also, #Filip has been working on a "Big screen" version of Project Temperature. Temperatures from the sensors that have been set as public are displayed on a nice background and are quickly accessible. This would be perfect for say, a large screen television display :)

Here are a few examples:

All of the pictures were taken by either #Filip or myself.

That's all for now, we're expecting to have an open BETA in as early as five days, so stay tuned cooll;

The time has finally come to let you see for yourself what we've been working on for the past few months. #Filip and I have been working on fixing some last minute bugs in the past few days, so Project Temperature should now be usable.

However, this being a BETA test, it's almost certain there are still some bugs and perhaps improvement to be made. This is why we need your help testing it and giving us your opinion.

For now, only a few selected members will be able to contribute their data (ie, upload temperature data from their sensor), but when we put up the client download everyone who has both a Raspberry Pi and a temperature sensor will be free to download it and install it on their device.

So now, without further adue, here's the link to Project Temperature: http://t.enytstudio.com/playground.php

Please note, to experience Project Temperature fully, you'll need to register. A link to the registration page can be found on the userbar (hover over the avatar in the top right corner of the screen).

On behalf of the Project Temperature team, thanks to all of you who will kindly test this out for us. We look forward to hearing your feeback cooll;
Filip

Hello,

If you haven't noticed, profile pages have been redesigned and they are now customizable. Ordinary users can update their cover photo and users with special badge (all beta testers will get it) can change colors of different elements of page. Here is example of profile page customized by #comathi:

and customization page (accessible by Usermenu>Gear button):

And that's pretty much it.

Thank you
