I've been working on a Tetris game for a couple weeks now, and I am starting to run out of ideas for the game.

Yup, that is a bug. The problem is that a few variables are null (because the game didn't start yet)

Really good job but tetris games aren't a new idea. How about you try adding some more rhythm based things and power ups to make it more original and interesting.

Yes spice it up a bit and go weird by making some really odd shapes and even shapes with more than one color in them...that would make it challenging
