The most popular way is my clicking the apple logo on your Finder, and then clicking About This Mac...

Another way which goes more in depth is by opening up your terminal (Open up your Applications Folder in your Dock, and then go into the Utilities folder, and that's where it should be located unless changed)

And put down...

This will give you the product name, version, and build version.

This will give you a basic overview of your system as seen below.
